Tuesday I went to the Illustrating Modern Life: The Golden Age of American Illustration from the Gene Kelly Collection show at Pepperdine University with work from Rockwell, Leyendecker, Parrish, Wyeth and many more illustrators from 1880 - 1930. Its the museums 20th anniversary so they put on this awesome show. Such a great collection of work, I spent about an hour reading each plaque descriptions and studying each masterpiece, but I could have easily spent a whole day looking at it all. The short drive down there was great also with plenty of places to pull over and paint or draw nature and the University has a nice scenic view of the ocean, which makes for a very nice ether quick or daylong outing.
